The RCMI Clinical Proteomics Discovery Core Facility is located in the Microbiology Department (3rd floor
of the Main Bldg, Lab B-316) and directed by the PI (http://rcmi.rcm.upr.edu/research/proteomics.html).
Currently the instruments include: a Ciphergen SELDI-TOF mass spectrometry instrument with Biomarker
Wizard program, Biomek 2000 Robotics, LTQ MS/MS Proteome X mass spectrometer with 3 Pentium
Optiplex computers with the Bioworks program (Thermo) for analysis of peptide sequences, a speedvac, a -
800C freezer (Thermo), a refrigerator, a chemical fume hood, and gel electrophoresis apparatuses for 1 and
2-dimensional gels. . 4 HPLC and 1 FPLC instruments located in the 1st and 3rd floors of the Main Building
are available as part of the Proteomics Discovery core Facility. A 2-DIGE imaging system will be available
by March 2008. |
